2019 INFINITI Q70L Press Kit

The 2019 INFINITI Q70L has much to offer over the standard Q70 performance luxury sedan – specifically a 5.9-inch longer wheelbase, 5.6 inches of additional rear seat legroom (41.8 inches total) and 5.9 inches of extra knee room (32.5 inches total). Along with its first class style and space, the Q70L is designed to provide smooth, luxurious ride comfort for all seating positions.

The 2019 Q70L is offered in four models – Q70L 3.7 LUXE, Q70L 3.7 LUXE AWD, Q70L 5.6 LUXE and Q70L 5.6 LUXE AWD (for information on the 2019 INFINITI Q70 model, please visit www.infinitinews.com).

For the 2019 model year, all Q70L 3.7 LUXE content from the previously complimentary Essential package is now standard. The new standard features include valuable technology such as:

Sleek Lines, Seductive Curves, LED Lighting
Building on the foundation of the standard INFINITI Q70, the Q70L seamlessly ingrates the additional length behind the B-pillars, with the flowing, emotional lines and refined elegance of the vehicle taking on an even more upscale image. And, with the extended length of the Q70L's rear doors, rear seat ingress and egress is enhanced – especially for taller passengers. Automatic power rear door clinchers are also standard.

The Q70L's LED headlights make an immediate and indelible first impression. An Adaptive Front Lighting System with auto-leveling headlights is available as part of the ProACTIVE Package. The distinctive headlights accentuate the double arch-grille, which takes on a three-dimensional look due to the elaborate detail of the high-quality waved mesh finish and chrome surround. The same solid feel is echoed in the front bumper with integrated LED fog lights, giving the Q70L a dignified presence on the road.

From the front, a strong body line rises from the grille, flowing through the bodyside like a wave and blending into the shape of the rear LED combination lights, forming a compelling profile that highlights the Q70L's sporty stance. At the rear, the design of the taillights creates a horizontal flow in motion while the high-quality lighting signature evokes a fresh and classy image. The chrome rear finisher adds a touch of class to the entire rear view. The Q70L has a low coefficient of drag of just 0.27.

Other standard exterior features include a power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade, power-folding heated outside mirrors with integrated LED turn signal and reverse tilt-down feature, as well as rain-sensing variable intermittent front windshield wipers. Also standard are courtesy lamps built into the outside door handles, rear window defroster with timer, dual exhaust with polished tips and automatic trunk cincher.

The 2019 INFINITI Q70L is available in seven exterior colors: Hagane Blue, Hermosa Blue, Chestnut Bronze, Liquid Platinum, Graphite Shadow, Black Obsidian and Majestic White (with premium pearl finish).

Premium Interior, Meticulous Craftsmanship
The INFINITI Q70L's well-appointed and inviting interior combines style with spaciousness. With 110.6 cubic feet of interior room (versus 103.6 cubic feet for the standard Q70), the Q70L stretches the expectations for comfort in class, including the ability of most rear seat passengers to comfortably cross their legs.

As with the standard wheelbase Q70, the instrument panel features Fine Vision gauges, gear-like rings on the instrument cluster meters, an 8-inch color vehicle information display and INFINITI analog clock. Leather-appointed, heated 10-way power driver and front passenger's seats, including 2-way power lumbar support and heated rear seats, are standard – along with a dual occupant memory system for the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors, which can be linked to the individual INFINITI Intelligent Keys. Every Q70L also comes with standard heated steering wheel.

In addition, each Intelligent Key remembers the last-used climate control, audio and navigation settings. An entry/exit assist system for the driver's seat and steering wheel, sequential welcome lighting illuminated entry system and dual-zone automatic temperature also add to the Q70L's exceptional level of standard premium appointments.

Standard technology equipment includes Active Noise Control, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth®, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, HomeLink™ Universal Transceiver and RearView Monitor. Other interior highlights include power windows with one-touch up/down and auto-reverse feature, power door locks with automatic locking feature, retained accessory power for windows and moonroof, Bose® 2-channel premium audio system with 10 speakers and Audio Pilot^TM 2 Noise Compensation, Radio Data System, USB Connection Port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, steering wheel audio controls and speed-sensitive volume control, rear reading lamps, and a 12V rear power outlet.

Also standard is INFINITI InTouch^TM Navigation with 8-inch color touch-screen display, lane guidance and 3-D building graphics, Voice Recognition for navigation functions, including one-shot voice destination entry – along with INFINITI InTouch^TM Services with six months of access to safety, security and convenience services.

Other available technology includes Bose® Studio Surround® premium audio system with 16 speakers, Enhanced Intelligent Key, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist and Front Pre-Crash Seat Belts.

Two interior colors are offered – Graphite and Stone.

Intelligent Performance, Choice of Drivetrains
Staying true to INFINITI's roots of sporty precision, the 2019 Q70L is offered with a choice of powerful and efficient 3.7-liter V6 and 5.6-liter V8 engines. Both are equipped with Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL®), which combines hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically controlled variable valve lift on the intake side to help improve performance and response.

Throttle response is enhanced by directly controlling the intake valve, rather than using the traditional method of controlling intake with the throttle valve. The VVEL system also offers improved emissions and fuel efficiency (over non-VVEL designs) by substantially reducing the intake resistance that occurs when the engine's throttle valve opening is narrowed and output is low.

The refined 3.7-liter aluminum-alloy DOHC 24-valve V6 is rated at 330 horsepower @ 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque @ 5,200 rpm. It features rigid ladder frame construction, large crank journal and pin diameters, asymmetric piston skirts, twin knock sensors, molybdenum coated lightweight pistons, Iridium spark plugs and a symmetric twin air intake system.

The Q70L's 5.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline aluminum-alloy DOHC 32-valve V8 is rated at 416 horsepower and 414 lb-ft of torque. The Direct Injection Gasoline system provides better wide-open throttle performance and improved fuel economy and emissions performance (compared to a non-direct injection system) by reducing engine knock, improving combustion stability and offering more precise injection control.

Both engines are matched to INFINITI's advanced 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev Matching, which allows for sportier shifts during spirited driving.

The Q70L is offered with a choice of rear-wheel drive or INFINITI Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, which uses an advanced torque split control strategy that automatically redistributes torque to the wheels (0:100 rear biased, or up to 50:50 front to rear) according to road and driving conditions, ensuring sure-footed road holding at all times.

Estimated fuel economy is rated at 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway for the Q70L 3.7 LUXE and 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway for the Q70L 3.7 LUXE AWD. The Q70L 5.6 LUXE is rated at 16 mpg city/24 mpg highway, while the Q70L 5.6 LUXE AWD achieves fuel economy of 16 mpg city/23 mpg highway.

In line with the focus on the driver, the Q70L features technologies that enable individuals to customize the driving feel. The unique INFINITI Drive Mode Selector allows drivers to select from four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Sport or Snow – and the integrated control system will adjust throttle sensitivity and transmission mapping to help optimize performance. The system also adjusts Active Trace Control and Eco Pedal settings (available with ProACTIVE Package). To encourage eco-driving behavior, the available Eco Pedal provides feedback directly through the accelerator by giving a slight pushback if driving inefficiently.

The Q70L utilizes the advanced INFINITI front mid-ship platform, which positions the engine behind the front axle, resulting in an optimized front-to-rear weight balance. Laser welding is carried out at critical locations to help enhance lateral bending stiffness, torsional stiffness and suspension mounting point stiffness. Precise handling is provided by an independent double-wishbone design at the front and multi-link independent suspension in the rear, along with front and rear stabilizer bars. The rear suspension geometry has been designed to provide a quiet, comfortable ride.

The INFINITI Q70L's large diameter wheels and tires are positioned out near the corners of the vehicle, helping to enhance performance. Standard 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels – uniquely designed for the Q70L – and 245/50R18 all-season performance tires are offered on all models. In addition, the Performance Tire & Wheel Package offers split 5-spoke 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with 245/40R20 all-season performance tires. The new Premium Select Edition offers unique design and color 20 x 9.0-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

Each Q70L utilizes standard 4-wheel power-assisted vented disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. Sport Brakes with larger rear rotors with 4-piston front/2-piston rear opposed calipers are included with the Performance Tire & Wheel Package.

The Q70L utilizes an electronically controlled, speed-sensitive, variable-assist power rack-and-pinion system. Helping the driver to maintain control of the vehicle at all times is INFINITI's advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System. The Active Trace Control system, available with the Technology Package, also adjusts engine torque and braking at each wheel to help enhance cornering performance.

Innovative Technologies
The long list of safety and security systems, which are available with the ProACTIVE Package, include the Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, which can warn the drivers of risks that lie beyond the driver's forward field of view, uses a sensor on the front of the vehicle to analyze not only the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle traveling in front of the preceding one.

Another advanced Q70L technology is the available Around View® Monitor, which helps take the hassle out of parallel parking. The system includes Moving Object Detection, which can alert the driver to moving objects detected around the vehicle when pulling out of a parking space or backing up. The Back-up Collision Intervention^TM system is a pioneering technology that can intelligently detect crossing traffic, as well as large, stationary objects behind the vehicle when in reverse. Forward Emergency Braking can detect potential frontal collisions and can assist drivers in avoiding or mitigating collisions.

Other available safety and driver assist systems include the Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control and Distance Control Assist.

In addition, all INFINITI Q70L models come equipped with standard INFINITI Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and occupant classification sensor; standard front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags; and standard roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection. Also standard are 3-point front and rear seat belts, front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, front seat Active Head Restraints with 4-way manual adjustments, along with LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren).

Four Models, Four Available Packages
The 2019 INFINITI Q70L lineup includes four well-equipped models: Q70L 3.7 LUXE (V6 rear-wheel drive), Q70L 3.7 LUXE AWD (V6 all-wheel drive), Q70L 5.6 LUXE (V8 rear-wheel drive) and Q70L 5.6 LUXE AWD (V8 all-wheel drive) 

Four equipment packages are also offered. The Sensory Package features the Bose® Studio Surround® sound system with digital 5.1-channel decoding, 16 speakers; power rear sunshade; semi-aniline leather seating; unique quilted seat pattern with additional seat bolstering; White Ash silver-powdered wood trim; suede-like headliner; premium soft-touch material for armrests, door inserts, center console and knee pads; and premium stitched meter hood.

A long list of advanced safety and convenience features are offered with the ProACTIVE Package, including Intelligent Cruise Control (Full-Speed Range); Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention; Distance Control Assist; Intelligent Brake Assist; Predictive Forward Collision Warning; Blind Spot Warning and Blind Spot Intervention® systems; Front Pre-Crash Seat Belts; Active Trace Control; Eco Pedal; Adaptive Front Lighting System with auto-leveling headlights; Forward Emergency Braking; Back-up Collision Intervention; and Predictive Forward Collision Warning.
