MOSCOW, Russia - The Moscow International Auto Salon opened today its doors to the Russian and international media INFINITI is celebrating one European premiere and several Russian premieres.
During the press-conference held on August 29, the 7-passenger luxury crossover INFINITI JX celebrated its European premiere. It was unveiled by Johan De Nysschen, President of INFINITI.
The INFINITI JX, which is built at the plant in Tennessee, sets itself apart from the competition by meeting the specific needs of larger families. This vehicle has everything to become a success in Russia: a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine, an advanced four-wheel drive chassis, ensuring it can cope with the worst weather the seasons can throw at it. And it is unmistakably an INFINITI, with bold yet graceful exterior styling.
"INFINITI JX is a practical seven-seater. The clever second and third row seating system can carry both adults and children… and access to the third row is the easiest you'll find anywhere. I have no doubt the INFINITI JX will take our sales in Russia to the next level," said de Nysschen.
Start of sales of new INFINITI JX in Russia is planned for beginning of 2013.
The visitors of the Moscow Motorshow have also a chance to see INFINITI FX Sebastian Vettel version, a concept which was inspired by the double World Champion Sebastian Vettel - an INFINITI Global Brand Ambassador. It's lower than the standard FX, more powerful, faster, lighter and more aerodynamically efficient with masses of extra downforce.
De Nysschen noted: "The concept INFINITI FX Sebastian Vettel version is a great example of what we can do at the top end of our range."
Another show stopper at the INFINITI stand was the petrol/electric hybrid concept - INFINITI Etherea.
"Etherea does hint at INFINITI's future, both in terms of its model line-up and styling elements," said de Nysschen. "At the moment INFINITI is creating a new entry-level model: a compact luxury car aimed a new, young, audience. Production of the new car will start in 2014 and it will be assembled in Europe by Magna-Steyr, a leading brand-independent engineering and manufacturing partner."
The Moscow International Auto Salon is expected to become to biggest show in the whole automotive history in Russia: It is located on more than 100,000 square meters with more than 100 exhibitors attracting about 1,000,000 visitors to come.
