Tommaso Volpe was appointed director of Nissan Global Motorsports in April 2020, a role that sees him lead the Nissan and INFINITI racing programs. As well as overseeing Nissan's Formula E, Super GT, Prototype and global GT3 racing activities, Volpe is also responsible for INFINITI's global motorsports programs, including PR and marketing activation.
Prior to this, Volpe was global director of motorsport and performance projects at INFINITI since September 2014. During this period, he strengthened the role of INFINITI in Formula One™, moving from a sponsor to a technical partner for the Renault DP World F1® Team, including co-development of the Energy Recovery System, the INFINITI Engineering Academy and the Project Black S prototype.
Before joining INFINITI, Volpe was head of marketing and retail merchandising at Lotus Cars. He delivered a new global marketing strategy for the brand, which included the partnership with Lotus F1 Team a part from core marketing and PR activities.
Volpe's first role within the automotive industry was as corporate marketing manager at Ferrari, where he was responsible for marketing budgets and coordinating new product launches and corporate events. His marketing career began at KPMG in Italy, where he worked as a marketing strategist.
Volpe graduated with degrees in mathematics and economics from University "Federico II" in Naples, Italy. He speaks Italian, English and French.
